Single Sign-On (CAS)

In an effort to make our student’s experience as easy as possible, we maintain a central authentication system, often referred to as single sign-on, so that only one login is required to utilize the majority of UIndy online tools. Applications that utilize CAS participate in the same single sign-on session, meaning that once a user successfully authenticates with CAS, he or she won't be prompted again for a username and password for the duration of the session. Further, CAS allows a web application to see who authenticated, but protects the user's password from individual applications, allowing for a much more secure computing environment.

CAS is used for access to My UIndy, Banner (UIndy Self-Service), Handshake, Brightspace, Web Help Desk (ticketing system), and a handful of smaller web applications.
